GMP stands for Good Manufacturing Practices. It is a comprehensive operating standard that governs facilities, processes, personnel, documentation, and equipment as a system. It is not a certification that gets stamped on a piece of equipment at the factory. For extraction operators serving pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or regulated food markets, GMP compliance means starting with a User Requirements Specification before buying equipment, going through a formal qualification process including IQ, OQ, and PQ, validating your cleaning procedures, and maintaining everything under change control.
